Stammzellen Therapie nutzt Mäusen mit Alport-Syndrom

Alport syndrome is a hereditary nephropathy resulting in defective type IV collagen in the glomerular basement membrane.

Infusion of bone marrow-derived cells, or of unfractionated blood, or injection of mouse and human embryonic stem cells significantly improved survival of mice and was associated with de novo expression of the alpha 3(IV) collagen chain.
